The camping-site
is only 400 metres from the village centre where, a market with typical
Italian products is held on Thursdays. Farther on, along the uphill
main road, there is the Walser Museum that is worth
visiting.

Skiing
is possibile from the beginning of December until the end of April.
The cable car takes you up to height of 3260 metres. The Valsesia
skiing area is famous for free-riding. Miles of spectacular off-piste
routes are waiting to be discovered. Of course, also on-piste skiers
will enjoy themselves in the Monterosa-skiing area.
Not to mention the beautiful cross-country-skiing track only 100 metres
from the camping-site. You can hire alpine ski accessories on the
other side of the road leading to the village.

In the summer there are hundreds of miles of waymarked walking, hiking and trekking routes waiting for you, from easy flat routes to difficult climbs up to 4000 metres.

From
Alagna you can reach the Rifugio Margherita, situated
at a height of 4559 metres, the highest refuge of Europe. In this
area you can find easy paths and tracks suited for children too. Sleeping
in typical mountain refuges among shepherds with their herd or flock
will be an unforgettable experience. The campsite is also a conveniently
located to start a few days’ hiking trips. We are ready to give the
advice and help you may need to organize your trips. Two years ago,
a ‘via ferrata’ (a so-called iron way outfitted with
wire ropes, steel cables, pegs, or ladders) was built on the Bocchetta
della Pisse, for average trekkers.

Down in the valley you will find kayaking, rafting, hydrospeeding and canoeing opportunities.

It takes
only half an hour by car to reach the town of Varallo,
with its famous Sacro Monte’s Sanctuary. And one
hour’s driving is enough to reach the Lago d’ Orta,
a picturesque lake nearby.
